Five Things Friday [#2]
Where did the week go? It’s Friday again already! I hope you’ve had a productive and fun week. Here’s my Five Things Friday round-up ahead of the weekend. (Here’s last week’s Five Things Friday #1 incase you missed it).
ONE
New on my TBR List
This week I’ve added A Midnight Library by Matt Haig. The Hardback was released is August 2020 and quickly became a bestseller and a hit within the book blogging community. So I’ve had my eye on this one for a while, unfortunately I was all booked up and committed with blog tours so I knew this would have to wait until early 2021 🙂 It’s now on my TBR List, scheduled for March once the paperback is released on the 18th Feb. I can’t wait to delve in. Read the book notes if you’re not familiar with The Midnight Library. Why not order your copy now and read along with me.
Between life and death there is a library.
When Nora Seed finds herself in the Midnight Library, she has a chance to make things right. Up until now, her life has been full of misery and regret. She feels she has let everyone down, including herself. But things are about to change.
The books in the Midnight Library enable Nora to live as if she had done things differently. With the help of an old friend, she can now undo every one of her regrets as she tries to work out her perfect life. But things aren’t always what she imagined they’d be, and soon her choices place the library and herself in extreme danger.
Before time runs out, she must answer the ultimate question: what is the best way to live?
TWO
What I’ve been reading
This week I’ve read another non-fiction, self help book Power Hour by Adrienne Herbert. January is the perfect time to set new goals and habits for 2021. Adrienne’s book suggests dedicating one hour a day to do just that. Focus on you and spend one hour a day working on your goals. Learn more about the book and read my book view here.
THREE
What I’ve been Watching/Listening To
This week I’ve been listening to a number of bookish podcasts. I was amazed at how many there were listed on the Apple Store. I’m planning to share a post this month with my review of the best bookish podcasts, so look out for that here on Touring Tales soon.
As for watching… Dave and I have binge watched Bridgerton on #Netflix this week. Oh my lordy those dresses! What a feast for anyone who loves historical fiction and period dramas. I’ve loved being submersed in Bridgerton, it’s such a perfect escape from the real world for a few hours. Thank you #Netflix

Photo Of The Week
This week has seen alot of hard frost in north Wiltshire (UK). We’ve managed to avoid the snow, which has covered most of the north of the UK recently. I’m not a fan of snow but I LOVE walking with the dogs early frosty mornings.

Here’s Poppy enjoying the frost and waiting for me to throw the tennis ball (her world evolves around a ball). Today, our early morning walk was absolutely beautiful. Blue sky, full sun and white frost covered ground. The sun was glistening off of the path and fallen leaves and causing them to look like they were covered in glitter. Let’s hope we have a mild, warm spring just around the corner.I don’t know about you but I soooooo need more light now, I’m so over winter and grey skies.

What’s been happening at Touring Tales
MrTT is another week closer to his last day of corporate life (just 6 more working days to go wowser!). Once he’s finished there’s plenty on his to-do list to keep him busy. Including making more time to read and contribute book reviews to the Touring Tales book blog. Yay! I look forward to introducing you to MrTT and having a good balance of ‘his and her’ book reviews on here soon (something I’ve not found on other book blogs).
We’re also back underway with wedding plans following our cancelled event last year (thank you pandemic!). Hopefully we’ll manage to go ahead with our plans this year, it will be nice to eventually be Mr & Mrs Touring Tales after all these years. 🙂
On the blog side of things, here’s the posts from this week, incase you missed them (where have you been!!!):
- Book Review – Power Hour (Adrienne Herbert)
- Blog Tour – Networking For writers (Lizzie Chantree)
I think that’s about it from me this week. It’s Friday Pizza and Wine night in the Touring Tales house (now a tradition).
Till next week, have a fabulous weekend. Happy reading.
