Five Things Friday [#1]
Ya, it’s the end of the week, you made it to the weekend. In my first Five Things Friday post, I thought I’d share a weekly roundup of what’s been happening here at Touring Tales Books.
ONE
New on my TBR List
My ‘To Be Read’ (TBR) list is forever growing eek! This week I’ve add Dead Head (Book 3) by C J Skuse to my reading list. Available from 21st Feb, I devoured Sweetpea (#1) and In Bloom (#2) during lockdown in 2020.
Book Cover Notes
Can a serial killer ever lose their taste for murder?
Since confessing to her bloody murder spree Rhiannon Lewis, the now-notorious Sweetpea killer, has been feeling out-of-sorts.
Having fled the UK on a cruise ship to start her new life, Rhiannon should be feeling happy. But it’s hard to turn over a new leaf when she’s stuck in an oversized floating tin can with the Gammonati and screaming kids. Especially when they remind her of Ivy – the baby she gave up for a life carrying on killing.
Rhiannon is all at sea. She’s lost her taste for blood but is it really gone for good? Maybe Rhiannon is realising that there’s more to life than death…
The third book in the critically-acclaimed series following Sweetpea and In Bloom featuring everyone’s favourite truly original girl-next-door serial killer Rhiannon Lewis.
TWO
What I’ve been reading
I’ve just finished reading Networking For Writers by @Lizzie_Chantree. I’m on Lizzie’s Blog Tour on the 20th January 2021 so look out for my book review next week. Really enjoyed this book, and very relevant to Book Bloggers and Social Media writers as well as Book Authors.

What I’ve been watching / listening to
Having had a good Netflix-feast on boxsets over the past month I thought I’d better catch up on some TV and Podcasts I’ve missed. So this week I’ve just caught up on #betweenTheCovers bookclub series on BBC Two presented by Sara Cox. Great line up of authors each episode and some fab books discussed, damn it more being added to my TBR list…

You can catch up on this series on BBC iPlayer

Photo of the Week
Mr T took a great photo this week of our two Spaniels (Poppy & Coco) both wanting to be in MY reading chair. Anyone else have to SHARE their reading chair! Read my previous post who’s your reading buddy? and share your pics, I’d love to see them.

FIVE
What’s been happening at Touring Tales
Sadly still no touring in our motorhome, but fingers crossed we’ll be back out on the road at some point this year. In the meantime, Mr T is busy winding up business in his day job before handing in his laptop and waving goodbye to corporate life after 30+ years at the end of this month. We’re super excited about that obviously, a little bubbly in order I think to celebrate.
I’ve been finishing off a Udemy Pinterest Course, which I’ve thoroughly enjoyed and now feel quite the expert on that. You can check out how my new skills are being applied over on TouringTalesBooks. Why not hit FOLLOW for regular updates.
As well as tucking into my current reads, I’ve also written a few blog posts, with more scheduled for next week. Here’s this week’s blog updates:
- Bullet Journal For Beginners
- Book review – Claudia Winkleman – Quite
- Book Review – Bullet Journal Method (incl. my thoughts after year 1 of journalling this way)
Think that’s more than enough for this week. Hope you’ve enjoyed my first weekly roundup.
So how was your week? Share in the comments below xxx
PS: If you’re new to Touring Tales then welcome. You can read more on my About Page. My book blog was launched in October 2020. I have lots planned for Touring Tales Books for 2021, so I hope you’ll follow along and come and say hi.
Till next week, have a fabulous weekend. Happy reading.
